You have heard on the news that a famous person has died without a Will. You shake your head and say "How could that have happened?" Examples are Sony Bono (Sony & Cher), Tony Hsieh (Zappos founder), Michael Jackson and Jimi Hendrix, but there are many more people, famous not famous, who die without Wills.

A standout example is Abraham Lincoln, a lawyer by trade who knew better but perhaps thought he would get around to getting a Will later, when he had more time.

Do you have more time to do it later?

In every instance where there is no Will, a Court will be involved in the intestate estate. Someone will have to give your matter considerable time, and will probably have to bring an action in Probate Court to settle your estate (the property you own at the time of your death).

Be considerate of the people that follow you.  Get a Will done. It is easy to do and take very little time to secure your legacy.
